DESCRIPTION:A 50 mile (approximately) run on the usual mix on VMCC type roads and starting at Dikes Supermarket car park in Stalbridge. \nUPDATE FROM ANDY: 21st August:  In common with many cafes/restaurants Dikes Supermarket are operating on a reduced staffing level. To help with their planning would you please let me know by 12.00 on Friday 27th August if you would like a bacon or sausage bap before the start\, or when we return.   I have sampled these baps and can confirm they are excellent value at £2.95. SUMMARY:Chairman's Challenge Run
DESCRIPTION:Our Chairman would like you to join him for his fun summer challenge! \nUnlike a usual route sheet\, this is reliant on your ability to spot road signs and distances have been left deliberately vague so you’ll need to pay attention and not just follow the bike in front! \nNot overlong (less than 50 miles)\, it is ideal for riding two-up with a spotter on the pillion and perfect for lower-powered machines too. The run starts at Thorngrove Garden centre on Sunday 4th July\, at 11.00am and he’d be delighted if you would care to come along and take part.  Note\, pre-booking is not required but you will be asked to sign-on in the normal way (after reading and agreeing to the Rider and Ride Fact sheet)\, so get there by 10:30am).  There is no charge for this run. \nAs an extra incentive\, the overall distance was recorded on the bike used to test the route. If you make a note of your distance and it exactly matches his\, he will buy you a slice of cake! You’ll need to use either a route roller or a way of attaching the route sheet to your tank\, bring your own rubber bands or tape; trip meters and satnavs won’t help you here!

DESCRIPTION:This has been quite the year to say the least\, with virtually every motorcycling event having being cancelled or postponed. Having initially moved GIANTS2 from its original June date to the very end of August\, we had high hopes of staging a successful event. However\, the ongoing COVID situation\, with its threat of continued localised lockdowns\, has forced us to make the painful decision to cancel this year’s event. With only a month to go there is no sign from the government that the restrictions on larger gatherings are likely to be relaxed in time and it simply wouldn’t be possible to have over 120 riders and pillions gather in such a way without flouting the law. \nWe are so sorry to have to cancel and the organisers are devastated that all the work that’s been put in has gone to waste. Fortunately\, the Dorset section is well run and we can just about absorb the costs incurred and will be in the fortunate position to be able to organise GIANTS3 (or possibly 2.1!) in 2021. \nIf you have already registered for this year\, we can offer you three choices: \n\nA guaranteed spot for 2021 with your entry fee rolled over until next year\nA guaranteed spot for 2021 and your entry fee donated to our wonderful NHS charities who’ve done so much for us these last few months.\nA full refund.\n\nIt would be far simpler for the organisers if you were to choose either option 1 or 2\, especially if you’d like to attend in 2021. We expect to sell out once again\, so by choosing either of those options you are assured of a place. To that end\, if we don’t receive a message from you by August 31st\, we shall\nassume that you are kindly donating your entry fees to suitable NHS charities and you will automatically be enrolled in the 2021 event. If\, however\, you prefer option 1- guaranteed entry and your entry fee rolled over\, or option 3- a refund\, please let us know ASAP using this email address to contact us:  events@dorsetvmcc.co.uk \nIf you have made an overnight camping booking at Henstridge Golf and Leisure\, you will need to speak with them (Sandy or Rod) to cancel that.
