The course gives instruction on what to do in the event that you are involved in or come across an accident or medical emergency whilst out on your bike. DESCRIPTION:Now in its 44th year\, our Veteran  & Vintage Run takes place on Sunday 24th September at 10:30am from Leigh Village Hall. \nAs in previous years\, Rod Hann is bound to come up with a very enjoyable route\, but please note\, the run is only for pre-1931 vehicles.  By all means come along to the start and watch\, but if you want to take part in the run\, you had better brush the cobwebs off your vintage or veteran bike. \nThe run is about 43 miles in length with a coffee stop en-route.  Coffee and tea is also being served at the start. DESCRIPTION:Dear friends\n\n \n\nThis month it’s the section AGM and we’d appreciate your attendance on Wednesday the 11th October\, at the Halsey Arms. This is a necessary mechanism to help ensure the continued smooth running of your section and presents an ideal opportunity for you to ask the committee any questions you might have and indeed\, the chance to help make Dorset section even better. \nYour committee are always working hard on your behalf to provide runs\, club events and shows for you to enjoy\, but we are always open to new ideas. To that end\, at the AGM we will be electing (or in some cases\, re-electing) a Chairperson\, Secretary\, Treasurer and members of the committee\, both existing and new. Should you feel able\, we would welcome new faces around the committee table (which only meets typically twice\, or three times a year)\, to help refresh our thinking and plans. \nIf being on a committee seems too daunting\, perhaps you might volunteer to help organise one of our many riding events\, or help assist on the day with our major commitments\, such as the GIANTS run\, or Bristol show; we are always happy to see a volunteer\, as opposed to volunteering someone! Prospective run organisers are especially welcome\, I’d like to see at least two new ROs every year; people have different ideas of what constitutes a ‘good’ run\, be it faster or slower roads\, over a longer or shorter distance\, with cake stops\, or without (the horror)\, it’s up to you. Experienced run organisers would be more than happy to help you find your feet and you will be making a difference for your friends at section level. DESCRIPTION:Note: this run is on Saturday. \nMemorial Run November 11th starting from Shell Service Station  Nr Aldi  Gillingham SP8 5FB @ 11am toilets coffee snacks available from Gregs next to the Garage. \nThis is our annual memorial run to remember those club members and friends who are no longer with us or unable to ride. As it is Remembrance Day we will observe the minute’s silence at 11.00 before we start off. Our chosen charity this year will be Macmillan Cancer Support which we are suggesting a voluntary run fee of £5.00 all of this going as a donation to the charity. The route takes us east approximately 25 miles stopping at the Stalls Cafe SP3 5NH for coffee and cake\, before returning to The Old Brewery  Gillingham SP8 4NW for lunch. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 12th November we again will be riding down to  Bovington Tank Museum for the Remembrance Day service with free entry to the museum. We will leave Blandford Marsh & Ham car park (Morrisons car park)  at  9.45am.  This is an unofficial run so no paperwork or fee depending on how many turn up we can do follow my leader or will have a simple route sheet for the directions there.   As it is weather dependent.  If in doubt phone Ray Dickinson on 07414 289472  before 9.00am The tank museum has all facilities\, food\, toilets etc. All welcome any bike with no restrictions.

DESCRIPTION:New Year’s Day Run – RUN CANCELLED\nWe will again be holding our New Year’s Day Run in conjunction with the Sturminster Newton New Year’s Day Vintage and Classic Vehicle Run.  The event\, which is sponsored by Harts of Stur\, is a charity event benefitting the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. \nVehicles entering the main event are required to pre-book and are expected to arrive and be on display in the Station car park at Sturminster Newton from 9.00am.  The run usually attracts an assortment of very interesting cars and it is well worth wandering round to see the vehicles and chat to the owners.  The planned departure for the cars to take part in a scenic run is from 11am. \nVMCC Members and friends who wish to take part in the VMCC Dorset Section’s Run usually arrive from 10am\, but come earlier should you wish.  Bikes should be parked on the pavement in Station Road opposite the Poets Corner Cafe. (Please do not park in the Hansons Fabrics and Crafts car park).  You will be asked to sign-on on the day and for a minimum charity donation of £5 to place your motorcycle on display and/or go on the run.  In return you will receive a voucher from sponsors\, Harts of Stur\, to the value of £5 to be spent in the store.  Participants on the run are expected to leave from 10.45am; fifteen minutes before the cars. \nWe will go on  a short run\, it is January after all\, to end at the Virginia Ash for lunch. \n  \n  \n  \n
