DESCRIPTION:Our annual Autumn Run had to be cancelled at short notice last Sunday (4th) due to poor weather\, so we’re going to have another attempt at holding it on  Sunday 18th October. \nSame as before: it’s a single 50 mile route around north Dorset and\, depending on number of pre-bookings\, will have two start locations and two end locations. \nOne group will start from Thorngrove Garden Centre\, Common Mead Ln\, Gillingham SP8 4RE and finish at the Udder Farm Café\, Manor Farm\, Front St\, East Stour\, Gillingham SP8 5LQ.  The other group will do the reverse route by starting at the Udder Farm Café and finishing at Thorngrove Garden Centre. \nIf you’d like to take part in this run\, please note the following: \n\nThe run has limited places so you must pre-register and provide your phone number and VMCC membership number.  To register\, email these details to secretary@dorsetvmcc.co.uk.\nThere is no sign-on on the day and no fee to take part.\nTulip style route sheets\, GPX files etc will be emailed to participants a few days before the run.\nPlease observer social distancing at the start and end.\nIf you have any questions about the run\, please phone the organiser shown below.\n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Last Of The Summer Wine Run
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Last of the Summer Wine run is taking place!  Signs of normality are returning. \nA 40 mile run around north Dorset starting at Sturminster Newton Car Park and ending at The Horton Inn\, Cranborne Rd\, Wimborne BH21 5AD.  We are booked in at the inn for food and drinks as required at 1pm and they need contact details for the Covid-19 issue. Social distancing will be possible as we will either be outside in the garden or inside which is quite large. \nIf you’d like to take part in this run\, please note the following: \n\nThe run is limited to a maximum of 30 riders\, so you must pre-register and provide your phone number and VMCC membership number.  To register\, email these details to secretary@dorsetvmcc.co.uk.\nThere is no sign-on on the day and no fee to take part.\nRoute sheets will be emailed to participants a few days before the run. DESCRIPTION:Our Northern Run is taking place!  Signs of normality are returning. \nA two-part run around north Dorset and Somerset. \nPart 1 : we start at the Virginia Ash\, Ash End\, Henstridge\, Templecombe BA8 0PW at 11:00am and travel 36 miles to our lunch stop at The Windwhistle Inn\, A30\, Cricket St Thomas\, Chard TA20 4DQ. \nPlease note: \n\nthe Virginia Ash is opening especially for us at 9:30am and is serving breakfast\, coffee\, so please make it worth their while and spend some money with them!\nat the Windwhistle Inn\,  you can have a carvery or snacks.  Bernard would like to know on the morning of the run\, orders for the carvery\, so he can advise the inn before the start of the run.\n\nPart 2: we leave The Windwhistle Inn and travel 24 miles to Hamish’s Farm Shop & Café\, 637 Prowles Cross\, Yeovil BA22 9RF where the runs ends. \nIf you’d like to take part in this run\, please note the following: \n\nThe run is limited to a maximum of 30 riders\, so you must pre-register and provide your phone number and VMCC membership number.  To register\, email these details to secretary@dorsetvmcc.co.uk.\nThere is no sign-on on the day and no fee to take part.\nRoute sheets will be emailed to participants a few days before the run. SUMMARY:Giants Run is Cancelled : PLEASE READ.
DESCRIPTION:This has been quite the year to say the least\, with virtually every motorcycling event having being cancelled or postponed. Having initially moved GIANTS2 from its original June date to the very end of August\, we had high hopes of staging a successful event. However\, the ongoing COVID situation\, with its threat of continued localised lockdowns\, has forced us to make the painful decision to cancel this year’s event. With only a month to go there is no sign from the government that the restrictions on larger gatherings are likely to be relaxed in time and it simply wouldn’t be possible to have over 120 riders and pillions gather in such a way without flouting the law. \nWe are so sorry to have to cancel and the organisers are devastated that all the work that’s been put in has gone to waste. Fortunately\, the Dorset section is well run and we can just about absorb the costs incurred and will be in the fortunate position to be able to organise GIANTS3 (or possibly 2.1!) in 2021. \nIf you have already registered for this year\, we can offer you three choices: \n\nA guaranteed spot for 2021 with your entry fee rolled over until next year\nA guaranteed spot for 2021 and your entry fee donated to our wonderful NHS charities who’ve done so much for us these last few months.\nA full refund.\n\nIt would be far simpler for the organisers if you were to choose either option 1 or 2\, especially if you’d like to attend in 2021. We expect to sell out once again\, so by choosing either of those options you are assured of a place. To that end\, if we don’t receive a message from you by August 31st\, we shall\nassume that you are kindly donating your entry fees to suitable NHS charities and you will automatically be enrolled in the 2021 event. If\, however\, you prefer option 1- guaranteed entry and your entry fee rolled over\, or option 3- a refund\, please let us know ASAP using this email address to contact us:  events@dorsetvmcc.co.uk \nIf you have made an overnight camping booking at Henstridge Golf and Leisure\, you will need to speak with them (Sandy or Rod) to cancel that. Their telephone number is 01963 362789. \nOnce again\, we apologise for this cancellation\, please don’t think we haven’t tried our utmost to stage GIANTS2\, but it became clear the virus wasn’t going to allow us the fun of properly getting together this year and we’re not prepared to offer you an inferior experience. \nRoll on 2021!
