Photos from Gillingham in Gear 2024

Bit of a slow start to the day as the weather was not brilliant, but when it cleared the car park filled with a wide range of bikes. Lots of people showed an interest in our section activities so we may gain some new members. Good day looking at machinery of all kinds and talking to lots of interesting people.

The star bike of the day, for me, was a Ducati 650 twin shoehorned into a Suzuki GT 550 frame and styled along the lines of a 900SS, very impressive. Unfortunately he sneaked off before I could take a picture!

Thanks go to Ray and Andrew for organising our attendance with the GIG committee. Ray’s report is below.

We had a very successful Gillingham in Gear with over 20 bikes on our club stand. Our thanks to Andy & Fay for collecting the gazebo and manning the stand, together with Andy & Lynne Sharpe who helped all day with parking and Lee & Mandy helping to clear up at the end of the day. Also all the members who took the time to bring and display their bikes. The sale of books donated by the family of the late Ken Lucas raised £21.63 for the Air Ambulance.

Gillingham in Gear raised £823.00 which will be divided between the Gillingham Carnival, Blood Bikers and Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. Which we were grateful for, as you will have read in another email the help that was given to David & Tom after their unfortunate mishap.

Regards Ray, LInda and Andrew Rae

Thanks to Ray for additional photos.
