A reasonable turnout of 14 bikes plus 3 pillions for the Autumn Run from a new start venue of Blackmarsh Farm in Sherborne. I have wanted to use this cafe for a while now but was prevented by Covid and also their changed opening hours, hence the move to a Saturday run. I think it was worth it as they looked after us very well, we even had a reserved table.
It was good to see several of our non riding members at the start and also a couple of riders from further afield, Keith from Winchester on his faithful Triumph Hurricane and Neil from Poole on his gorgeous Kawasaki Z1.
I did like to see Ken Gay’s Yamaha RD500 V4 on the run, you would think it totally impractical but it always runs beautifully, and with that great smell of two stroke!
So off for a short run of 30 miles to Kimbers Farmshop, another new cafe, on a mixture of roads with a couple of small lanes to keep everyone awake!
After a good lunch most made their way home but a few of us went another 12 miles to the Virginia Ash.
No mechanical woes or getting lost and even the weather behaved itself and stayed dry, very unlike a Dorset Section Run!
Thanks to Paul W for additional photos.
Remember its the Dorset Section AGM at 20.00 on 11 October at the Halsey Arms, so if you want to raise any issues or tell us what the Section does right or what could be improved this is your opportunity.
