Not a very successful Somerset Levels Run yesterday, a wet start to the day obviously put people off, with only nine sign on at Blackmarsh Farm. We were also joined by some of our non riding members so it was a pleasant start to the day.
From then on we only had a couple of showers so didn’t get too wet for the rest of the day.
We were joined by our Area Rep, Mike Larcombe, at our first stop at Yandles Cafe in Bower Hinton and he joined us for the run to the lunch stop at The Cider Shack at Aller.
However the day was marred by our friend Bridget Vallance having an accident on the first stage of the run. Thankfully she was riding with a group who looked after her until the ambulance arrived. I am pleased to report that after a check up in Yeovil Hospital she was discharged with only minor injuries. I’m sure we would all like to wish her a speedy recovery.
Bridget would like to thank all who assisted her, especially Ray & Linda who stayed with her until the ambulance arrived.
Lets hope for better luck on our next run, the Chairman’s Challenge on the 30 June.
