Photos from Young Ryan’s Express 2023

Last Sunday, we had our newest run, Young Ryan’s Express, and it was organised by our youngest Run Organiser, Ryan Jeffrey. A proper event, staged mostly over the infamous Dorset motorways, which are narrow lanes with grass growing down the middle! A good turnout despite the dire weather predictions. Many thanks to everyone who came along, including a couple of currently non-riding members who nonetheless support the section by being there at the start.

Report by Ryan follows:

10 signed on at the start of my first run, the route seemed to go down well and we were fortunate enough to miss the rain.
The Spyway Inn was excellent and the first time we had been there and  it is somewhere I hope to use again. 4 off us completed the whole route back to Sherborne.  Thank you to all that came.

Thank you Ryan, it was our pleasure.  One final postscript, although the rain held off and no one slipped on wet roads, Ken Druce did manage to slip on a chicken on his way home 🙂 .  The daft thing (not Ken !) ran under his front wheel and caused Ken and bike to fall over — I saw it all in my rear view mirror.  Luckily, we were not travelling very fast and it was like watching a slow motion movie.  Ken managed to expertly slide into the offside  bank, which was quite soft and high, so neither he nor the bike were damaged.  The chicken wasn’t so lucky.
