Lovely weather tempted a lot of riders to join us for the Border Run on Sunday. I thought West Bay traffic would be dreadful but we were lucky and sailed through with no hold ups. West Bay was, well, as you’d expect with bikes crammed onto the parking circle but luckily most of us found space. Tea for 75p from one of the kiosks is an absolute bargain.

Excellent run many thanks to Paul M for organising a very enjoyable day, his report below.

The section’s oldest continuous event, the Border run, started from Sturminster Newton on a delightfully sunny morning and the 28 riders who signed on enjoyed a 34 mile run to West Bay, where ice creams and chips were deservedly consumed. Some initial misgivings about the choice of destination were largely dispelled as we mostly cruised down almost empty lanes until the very last mile or so of expectedly heavy traffic. The return route was equally quiet , with the twisty route finishing at Hamish’s cafe for a well-deserved luncheon. I’d like to thank everyone for supporting the event on such a warm day and a special thanks to all our new riders who chose to ride with us today, we Ho-e to see you again very soon.

Remember next Sunday, 17 August, we have the Tiddler Run from Kings Stag – go on embarrass yourself by riding something really sloooow!

I would also like to receive your views on the future of Club Nights as deatiled in my E Mail, have your say or we won’t know what you want.
