Photos from The Blandford Run 2026

I was really looking forward to this run especially as Phil has successfully negotiated layers of red tape from two councils to get to start from The Corn Exchange – the spiritual home of the Blandford Run. Unfortunately it was not to be as we broke down on the way to Blandford. My first VMCC run on a British bike! I knew I should have stuck to my nice reliable Italians.

Luckily a quick response from our son in law got us home to get our van and still get to The Fox in time for an enjoyable lunch.

Many thanks to Phil for organising an excellent day out, his report below.

The Blandford Run this year was back at the Corn Exchange in Blandford and what a fine refurbishment they have done, it must be 4 years since we were there. Tea and coffee and then onto the run.

We had 15 sign on and the route was one of one of our past colleagues (Peter Millers) run which l do not think he completed due to ill health. l did make a few changes but a nice route taking us to Bryanston, Durweston, over to Tarrant Gunville to Six Penney Handley, Deanland , Alvediston, Ashmore and through Handford and onto Okeford Fitzpaine and Bullbarrow and onto the Fox at Ansty for lunch 54 miles but a slow 54 miles on some of Dorsets unknown roads. A bit of rain on the way so 3 of us sheltered in a bus shelter for 10 minutes. What was nice was Will Collard built and rode Peter Millers old 1937 Ariel which for a 350 went very well.

As well as the photos below Phil arranged for a friend who is a professional photographer to take pictures – so many in fact I think it better if you follow this link to see them all. https://www.ryimages.co.uk/vmcc-dorset-blandford

Our next run is Ken’s Bluebell Run on Saturday 25 April, 11.00 from Lo’s Cafe, Pimperne. I shall definatly be coming to this one on an Italian bike! Now, where are my Imperial spanners?
