Photos from the August Run 2022

We did well yesterday!  Despite clashing with the Great Dorset Steam Fair, the Stock Gaylard Oak Fair and the Sherborne Historic Vehicle Rally, we still managed to get 25 riders for Andy Grew’s excellent August Run .  His report follows:

The imaginatively named ‘August Run’ again proved popular with 25 signing on together with several pillions. The Virginia Ash kindly agreed to open specially to provide us with coffee to get the run off to a good start.

The weather was perfect with good visibility to enjoy views of Dorset at its best. We had plenty of opportunity for this as we were ‘bringing up the rear’ following Pete on his Bantam!

The run was 46 miles in length, and nearly everyone completed the whole route to the Story Pig. Unfortunately the Bantam went bang in a big way just short of Sherborne. Many thanks to Rod and Carol who kindly agreed to provide recovery services as Pete would otherwise have had a very long wait on a Bank holiday weekend.

Lunch at the Story Pig was very enjoyable in the sunshine with fantastic views across Somerset with Glastonbury Tor and Cadbury Castle clearly visible.

A very pleasant day, lets hope the summer continues a bit longer!
