For late October 27 signing on at Hamish’s Cafe for the Halloween Run is an excellent turnout. We were joined by several South Dorset members, presumably pressurised by their ex- Vice Chairman Simon! We certainly saw a lot of Autumn colours and only experienced one light shower.
This run was a bit of a departure from normal as Simon had only provided a Gpx file, which took a bit of fiddling to load onto my Garmin. Although Bernie had produced a paper route I decided to go with the SatNav which worked reasonably well, except at a couple of junctions where I was told to turn right then do a U Turn! Everyone made it to The View Cafe but I think multiple routes were taken to get there.
At one point a hunt with attendant hunt saboteurs in black balaclava’s had to be negotiated.
A good run on a pleasant day, thanks to Simon for organising and for a few photos, his report below
“A very good turnout of riders and pillions from the Dorset and South Dorset Sections met at Hamish’s Café near Yeovil. Making their way to The View Café at Milton Abbas by a variety of routes, the dry conditions and autumnal vistas made for pleasant riding, and everyone was rewarded by a tasty selection of snacks on arrival. “
