Many thanks to Paul Miles, our Chairman, for putting another one of these alternative runs together. It certainly makes a welcome change from our many standard runs. All who took part seemed to enjoy it. His report follows below.
BTW: all three Velocettes that took part failed to complete the run. I’m not surprised 🙂 🙂
19 riders and four pillions signed on for the annual Chairman’s challenge, following a vaguely-outlined route that required them to answer questions on the way round. A half way stop at Aunt Fanny’s tea room near Wimborne was most welcome and the weather remained dry. Nearly all of the riders completed the challenge, arriving in Shaftesbury for an Abbey gardens finish. The chairman rewarded them all with a choc ice, he’s just too kind. The Chairman feels the challenge makes a pleasant counterpoint to our usual, clearly-defined routes; sometimes it’s about the journey, not just the mileage point.
