Photos and Video from the Memorial Run 2022

I wasn’t riding today, but did manage to get to the start at the Shell Garage at Orchard Park in Gillingham. Great weather and a great turnout and all in support of The Blood Bikers.   Ray and Linda Dickinson’s report follows, and thank you both for putting on a great route!  Glad to see we’ve started to make use of The Stalls on the A30.

First I would like to thank all those riders and other members who have donated money for The Blood Bikers. We had 19 riders and raised £151.00
It was a lovely autumn day ideal for a ride on the bike. A few people got lost in Shaftesbury as the run sheet and the GPX file took a slightly different route causing confusion. Everybody met up at The Stalls coffee shop who served excellent coffee and cakes.

The second half of the run took us to Tefont via a very picturesque route through the arch at Tisbury and on to Gillingham to The Old Brewery Cafe (Moto Corsa) who was exceedingly busy due to the lovely day. By 2.00 when we arrived they had run out of bread and chicken but managed to serve us well.

Unfortunately Bernard Jones’s Vincent decided to run on only one cylinder so he reluctantly went home. Brian from Salisbury riding Dave Bramley’s Norton decided it did not want to start from the Old Brewery cafe so I now have a very nice Norton in my garage. Open to offers?

All said and done everyone had a good day out, Andrew Wiley from the Blood Bikers is coming to our January club night to give a slide show where we will present him with his cheque.
Regards Linda & Ray
