Told you I’d arrange better weather for Sunday, it was a perfect day for riding. I had 13 plus 2 pillions sign on at The Farmyard Kitchen, their bacon baguettes are highly recommended. So we set off on the route I’d originally planned as all road closures were thankfully removed. A 32 mile run to Sweets Cafe at Westhay via Yeovilton, Butleigh and Glastonbury. As you can see I made the Laverda fly to take an aerial shot of the Tor.
Yes, the roads over the Levels were still very bumpy so low speeds were required. Notable sights were a helicopter landing at Godney and many geese and swans nesting in fields adjacent to the road at Westhay.
We met up with several members from Somerset Section at Sweets as they were holding their yearly Vintage & Veteran Run, although numbers were significantly down as it coincided with the Banbury Run.
After an agreeable lunch we set off back to Sherborne via Ashcott, High Ham, Yeovilton Weir and Limington. Hope everyone enjoyed the day, we certainly did!
Our next run is a new one – The Red Post Run on Sunday 21st June, a longer run 100+ miles starting from The Farmyard Kitchen definitely not one to miss.
We are also at Gillingham In Gear this Saturday, ride in, park up on our stand then ride out when it suits, very relaxed show. Remember, I need your Fish & Chip orders for our yearly Fish & Chip Run on the 17 June at The Green Man by Sunday 14th.
