Photos from the Bluebell Run 2025

It was a difficult decision for the featured picture, Paul W riding a H***a was a close contender but in the end I thought that the picture of Will regreting bringing a tractor on the run just shaded it.

I have to say that Ken smashed it this year with Bluebells everywhere plus wild garlic and cowslips adding additional colour. Excellent run in perfect weather which I’m sure everyone enjoyed, except David J-N who having strayed to the dark side experienced the pain of British bike ownership!

Thanks to Ken for organising the day and also for providing breakdown assistance, his report below.

Dare I say the BlueBell Run was going to plan. We had 21 riders sign on at Lo’s café, Lo had put benches and tables out for us which worked out well.

Everyone set off, and I was last to leave. I planned to stop and take some photo’s of the BlueBells to counter the fake news posted by a mischievous AI BOT that ‘Ken Druce’s runs have never found any BlueBells’ !

However, close to Bulbarrow I came across some slow moving bikes with a BSA A7 at the front. After a brief stop it was decided that myself and Paul would follow David on the BSA which was suffering from having a ‘Velo moment’, home.

The BSA threw the towel in at the bottom of Bulbarrow, so after brief interlude to get car and trailer from my house, we got the ailing BSA home.

After refreshments at David’s it was head home time, so I did not make it to Round Chimneys or get my BlueBell photo’s, but I believe those that did do the whole route had a good time and enjoyed some good weather.

Thanks to Paul W for additional photos. Remember our next run is the Hedgerow Run on Saturday 3 May at 11.00 again from Lo’s Cafe, Pimperne.
