When will it ever stop raining? Sunday was forecast to be a bit better, it wasn’t. I have ridden on three VMCC runs this year and on every one it rained the whole time. I was surprised to be joined by another 7 riders keen to brave the storms, most from further afield, so full marks for their commitment.

We enjoyed meeting at Teals with several non riders and the riders could dry out a bit before setting off, sorry to Teals for the puddles left on their floor.

We set off on the route I have used before which although wet did not have much in the way of gravel or mud. There are however some pretty spectacular potholes, one in particular you could loose a small MZ in. We also had to cross a flood at Kingston Magna and avoid some pretty large puddles in many places. On the bright side the weather kept the horses and cyclists at home.

I set off home when we got to The Virginia Ash but several went in for lunch.

I totally forgot to take any pictures at the start and it was too wet to stop to take any en-route, but luckily we passed Richard’s house in North Cadbury and he took some of us submarining past. Thanks Richard.

Our next run is the March Hare Run on Saturday 7 March at the Hillbrush Centre, Mere, BA12 6FE maybe it will stop raining before then.
