Another run organised by Run-Meister Bernard was, as usual, very enjoyable on a perfect Autumn day. We bailed out at Yandles as we were only a mile from home, but it was tempting to go back to The Ash. Thankyou to Bernard for organising the run and to Nigel for some additional photos. If you would like to organise a run next year please let me know as I am currently planning next years events. Afterall Bernie is not getting any younger….

A very successful run, 22 signed on, and 5 bikes were actually of British manufacture.
We gathered at the Virginia Ash and hopefully plenty of you had a coffee. The Ash had specially opened for us. If we don’t support them, we may not get this service in the future. I waited until the last minute as I was expecting some riders from Andover, but later learnt that Mike Dance had a technical issue on the A303 and returned to recover his bike. I hope it’s fixed and was not too serious.
We set off, Rod Hann and follower took an alternative route, but we met up at Buckhorn Weston, travelling up to Wincanton and Bruton, then West to Ansford, crossing the A37 at Lydford on Fosse, on to Somerton and then South to Martock for our coffee/snack break. I am pleased to say they accommodated us quite well.
The return run took us down towards Crewkerne, then a little high speed run along the A30 to West Coker, then back roads to East Coker and East to the A37 and Stoford, then on to Sherborne and finally another fast run down the A30 and back to the Ash. Many made their way home rather than ending up at the Ash, but a small group of us enjoyed a drink there. As far as I know it was a trouble free run. I am sure there were more 20 mph speed limits than I remember from last year, it’s getting difficult to avoid them.

Remember our AGM is this Saturday 17 October, 11.30 after our monthly breakfast meeting at The Old Brewery.

Our next run is the Halloween Run on Saturday 24 October 11.00 at Hamish Cafe, Prowles Cross, Yeovil, BA22 9RF
