Report from Andy Grew, the Run Organiser:

Report from today’s undersubscribed run.

I had originally planned today’s route for the Valentines Run, which had to be cancelled due to a severe storm. I thought as I had the route sheets and Paul W had prepared the GPX file this would be easy. But no! The council had closed a road in Butleigh, and we found that 50+ racehorses from Paul Nichols’ stable use the road through Ditcheat every day to get to their gallop at the same time we would be going through. Therefore, route had to be altered and new sheets and GPX prepared.

The forecast for today looked favourable earlier in the week but deteriorated as the week went on. But as I arrived at the Teals the sky cleared and the sun came out – a perfect Autumn day.

Although no one else turned up I decided to do the run, after all, I was all prepared and was on a weather proof Italian bike so why not? I’ve taken some pictures for all you rain-o-phobes to see what you missed. The views were good and the roads quiet, and I didn’t get wet at all – very enjoyable!
