Another excellent run organised by Paul, many thanks. Photo’s by Nigel J , Paul M and myself.

On a very warm and sunny Sunday morning an amazing 32 riders (and several pillions) supported the annual Border run, the original Dorset section riding event and running now for sixty years. Starting from Shaftesbury, the high point of Dorset, the near-forty mile route was a mixture of mostly faster B roads, with some scenic diversions down narrow country lanes. Despite the inevitable holiday traffic, most of the riders enjoyed largely traffic-free conditions. We welcomed a number of new faces, including a contingent of Greeves riders and even a Douglas twin up from Sussex!

Lunch was taken at Sweets tea rooms, having passed the amazing sight of Glastonbury tor, a giant fist of brown punching out from the surrounding Somerset levels.

We hope you all enjoyed the run and look forward to welcoming you back on one of our future events.

Our next run is our annual Tiddler Run 10.30 next Sunday 16 August, starting from Oxfords Bakery, Alweston, DT9 5JR. NOTE: this is different to what is on your events card and VMCC magazine, as the cafe at Kings Stagg is closed. Although this is a run primarily for bikes under 250cc, larger ones are permitted as long as they are slow.
