A whole bunch of photos from yesterday’s Dorset Dakar. It started at Compton Abbas Airfield, with an en-route pop-up café stop near the Fovant Badges and then onto the ford at Stratford Tony and finally to The Fox and Goose, Coombe Bissett for some lunch.
Seems an excellent time was had by all with only a few minor incidents: Dave Owen’s rear mudguard hinge came apart on his Ariel after doing one too many airborne launches, Howard Smedley took a small fall on the last leg of the course and lost the indicators on his Yamaha and at least two people stalled their bikes in the centre of the ford.
Many thanks to Andrew Rae for putting this event together, and to Alison Rae for the excellent brownies. And also to Philippa Wirdnam for all the teas, coffees and flapjacks at the pop-up café.
Photos by Paul Wirdnam, Ray Dickinson and Colin Jacobs.
