Photos from the Fish & Chip Run 2026

by

This year I decided on a change from our usual format and started and finished at The Green Man at Kings Stag. Numbers were similar to previous years with 16 plus 3 pillions signing on plus another 2 coming along for the run and joining us for the meal.

Everyone went on my prepared run of 23 miles on nice easy roads mostly well surfaced, that makes a change. A good bit of bend swinging out to Alweston then past Lewiston School to join the main road through Lions Gate then home through Glanvilles Wooton. Nice run of about 45 minutes getting us back to the Green Man to eat at 7.00.

I think everyone agreed that the pub did a great job hosting us in the newly refurbished skittle alley and that the fish and chips were excellent. I think we may be back next year!

You will have noticed someone taking photos as we left and returned to The Green Man, it was Steve Tarrant who lives opposite the pub. I think you will agree that his pictures are excellent especially as he was photographing moving targets. He has even included a black and white of William, obviously thought he was that type of guy.

Thankyou very much Steve for the photos.

Our next run is on Sunday, The Red Post Run, 10.00 at The Farmyard Kitchen, Sherborne, DT9 4JX. Weather looks fine and warm so this will be a good run, hope to see you there.
