Photos from the Hot X Bun Run 2022

Was it the glorious weather or the lure of those hot cross buns with tea and coffee?  Or maybe a combination of both?  Either way, it resulted in a fantastic turnout with 30 riders and pillions signing on with 26 bikes taking part.  Nice to have some youngsters on the run: Ryan Jeffrey’s son and Nick Field’s daughter.

I’d like to thank my lovely wife, Philippa, and my son, Robbie, for looking after all the catering and cleaning up after the bikers had left at 11.  They got it just right; 32 hot cross buns were bought and the last person to sign on ate the very last one.

I think we only had one breakdown…and Ariel, typical!  Although, not one of mine 🙂 .  Ian Myers, who was riding Peter Batton’s old “special”, reports that his bike just cut out suddenly but still had a spark, fuel and compression. With our Chairman’s help, he went back to the start to fetch his trailer.  Of course, as soon as he returned to the bike, it started first kick.

Next run is another one of mine, sorry.  It’s the Bluebell Run next Sunday 24th.  I’ll try and arrange similar weather.

The Start at Okeford Fitzpaine
Stop at Ginny’s Café at Boyton
