Report by Rod Hann below.  What a fantastic turnout and the new venue of Shillingstone Railway Station seem to work well.  Many thanks to Rod and Carol for organising another great run.

Sunday 4th June saw the 14th running of the Jeff Clew Memorial Run. A bright and sunny warm day encouraged 39 entries to the start at Shillingstone Railway Station.

A choice of two routes catered for all wishes. The shorter 45 mile route took the form of a figure of 8 and incorporated a pleasant coffee stop at the Round Chimneys Farm Shop and cafe.

The longer route of 60 miles took riders southwards and allowed a glimpse of the sea at West Lulworth before the coffee stop at the Rainbow Cafe at East Knighton.

Both routes had plenty of glorious views of the beautiful Dorset countryside.

On the return to Shillingstone there was more socialising before the trophies were awarded as follows:-

  • The Haynes Shield (Best Overall) = John GUY – Terrot
  • Hinton Motorcycles Trophy (Best Veteran or Vintage) = Colin BENTHAM -Velocette
  • Bob Foster Trophy (Best Post Vintage) = Ken DRUCE – Sunbeam
  • John Brittain Trophy (Best Post War) = Rich KINSEY – Panther
  • Clew Family Trophy (Best Velocette) = Paul MILES – Velocette
