An unscheduled start to the run as we were unable to use the village hall. But the alternative was far more scenic, riding up the avenue to Hinton Manor, somewhere I’d never been before.
We voted Nigel Percy’s 1929 James as Best Bike, but unfortunately he left before he could be awarded with the trophy.
I must confess to failing in my duties as official photographer, due to getting distracted by food and talking. If you see me at future runs without a camera in my hand please give a reminder! Thanks to Paul W for his pictures.
Many thanks to Nick for organising the run, his report below.
On beautiful bright morning after a strange start 18 riders set off from Hinton St Mary heading towards
Sturminster to Fifehead ford, Hazelbury, Ansty, Hilton past the lovely Milton Abbey to The View Cafe then on to Bullbarrow view point and what view!. From there on to Lo’s for lunch and back via Guy ‘s Marsh Prison seeing more of the beautiful Dorset country side and back to Hinton for more tea and cake hope every one enjoyed the run.
