What a shame. After weeks and weeks of unusually hot weather, yesterday it all changed. Rod Hann reports:
“Due to the heavy rain and strong winds only a few bikes turned up for the Run today. Four hardy souls insisted on going for a ride so I gave them a route sheet and let them go. I did not charge the usual run fee. They enjoyed the ride and did not get too wet considering the conditions. Still there were 32 people at the start and we all abandoned to the cafe and consumed coffee, lunch etc until the riders returned. It was all very sociable. Even Alison Clew arrived from the Midlands. No trophies were awarded and the routes will be kept for next year.”
And those four hardy souls deserve a mention:
- Maurice Marston – Dorset
- Colin Bentham – Somerset
- Chris Tiso – Somerset
- Martin Foot – Bristol and Douglas Club.
