Last Saturday (11th), the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance held a “thank you” event at Henstridge Airfield for some of their fundraisers. They invited approximately 15 groups with five people in each group and our Section was one of the groups invited. It was a really cold day out on the exposed airfield but it was fascinating to lean more about how this very worthy charity operates.

After the event, Andrew Rae walked us across the airfield to another hanger to meet a friend of his, Clive Davidson, who looks after a biplane collection at Henstridge. This includes a 1917 Sopwith Pup that is being restored and numerous flying Tiger Moths. Amazing!
