Simon was concerned that no one would turn up to his run at the end of October, but this was not the case. Hopefully he will be encouraged to organise the run again next year.
Ken turned up on his Suzuki GT380 as he had broken most of his other bikes, 5 out of 7 to be precise. Disgraceful lack of maintenance, no wonder we kicked him off the committee!
The feature photo is of David’s BSA A7 on it’s longest trip so far – about 1/2 mile, hope you got home OK, David, after such an ambitious journey.
Very pleasant run and 2 excellent cafe’s made for a good day out. Thanks Simon for your efforts, his report below.
“Sixteen riders, including eight from the South Dorset Section, assembled at Hamish’s Cafe near Yeovil, for this year’s Halloween Run. There were plenty of hot drinks and breakfast rolls consumed.
In ideal conditions, on drying roads under bright blue skies, we took a scenic route passing through Cerne Abbas, Charminster, Dewlish, and Milton Abbas before arriving to a warm reception at the View Cafe.
This year we published a GPX file of the route for riders to download the route onto their devices, be it a Beeline, SatNav, or Phone. The “non-techie” riders seemed happy to follow those who knew where they were going! Could this be the way forward, who knows?
Thanks to Paul W, Simon and David J-N for additional photos. Our next run is the Memorial Run on 9 November
AT HAMISH’S CAFE
AT THE VIEW, MILTON ABBAS
