Sounds like it was third time lucky for Paul’s White horse Run, after the first year with no route sheets and the second years breakdown! It is a fantastic run on more major roads than usual – great to clear the pipes out. Thanks to Paul for organising it, his report is below.
The run went very well albeit everyone spread out very quickly to complete it at their own preferred pace.
Great to see new members giving it a go and we had a good turnout of around 17 people.
Weather was good and conditions dry, so ideal motorcycling weather.
First stop at Old Sarum airfield gave the opportunity for tea, coffees, cakes and butties as the parachutists gracefully glided down above us.
Onto first white horse and Pewsey for pleasant lunch before onwards to the yank ranges (is anyone ever going to try the 1930’s road experience section? 🙂 )
Finally onto the newly reopened A36 and the A30 back to the Udder Cafe where we started, 3 of the group I was in (which wonderfully to included a completely recovered Bridgette and her splendid 1957 Bonny) finished the day with another great coffee and bit of cake.
Very pleased to report my 1969 Triumph 120 Bonny which so spectacularly failed 3 miles into last years run performed splendidly (even more so when I realised the choke slides hadn’t lifted properly!)
For next year I’ll modify the route slightly so we don’t overwhelm Pewsey’s charity tea shop!
Many thanks to all that came, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed running it and riding it with you all.
Beat regards,
Paul
